5 Spring and Summer 2021 Home Trends

Spring is upon us and the Summer 2021 Home Trends is just around the corner.

The Summer 2021 Home Trends is fast approaching bringing fresh new tones to people’s homes. Flowers are blooming and days are longer and brighter. For those of us in the U.K., this is something highly appreciated. Making the most of your home during these warmer months is essential for many, many reasons – especially given the year we have all had.

As Spring fades away many of us would have completed the annual spring clean, ready to revamp parts of the home. Instead of feeling overwhelming at the thought, read on to get an idea of what’s in and what’s out.

1. Earth Tones

Earth tones can be described as warm and natural colours like greens, blues and pale pinks. They signify power yet offer a calming touch, creating a sanctuary in the home. The Dulux 2021 Paint Colour Palette of the Year is show below. Which exactly matches this Summer 2021 trend.

This colour palette signifies “wellbeing, sustainability and human connection. Moving past fear, transcending our limitations and aiming for a more balanced world by connecting with our fellow humans with compassion and kindness.”

Add these elements into your home through paint and accessories to create a tranquil setting for you and your loved ones.

2. Pantone Colour of the Year 2021

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2021. A marriage of ‘Illuminating’ yellow and ‘Ultimate Grey’. Pantone describes this combination as “Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, the union of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is one of strength and positivity. It is a story of colour that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly.”

Similarly, to number 1, you can bring these colours into your home through paint and accessories such a cushions and art.

3. Eco

The world is finally aware of how fragile she is. So, sustainability is at the top of many people’s agenda in the home. Up-cycling is a world-wide favourite which involves sprucing up old furniture to give them a second, third, even fourth lease of life.

Eco accessories are also big right now. Swapping single-use cutlery and cleaning products just a few of the many products available.

4. In The Back

Many of us will have experienced Zoom calls in the last 12 months, which is something that will most likely stick around. This has made floating shelves and simple décor a hit this Summer 2021. Pick your favourite ornaments and pictures and rearrange to your hearts content.

5) Entertainment!

Entertaining guests will be big this year. Essentials including colourful plastic (reusable) drinking glasses and outdoor dining wear will be at the top of people’s list. We have already written about ways to prep your garden for visitors this Summer 2021 – read it again here.

Other entertainment products set to be on trend this year are fire pits for the chillier nights, comfortable rattan garden furniture and of course, a comfy spare room.

Remember that your hallway is the first place your guests enter so ensure this space feels instantly homely on arrival. Take a look at Ghyll House Farm for inspiration, pictured below.
