September 2021 Monthly Update
September is a month of new beginnings. With the end of Summer and the start of a new school year, we take some time to reflect on the past month at Wavensmere Homes.
Although it’s not yet time to announce what we have been working on, we can assure you that behind closed doors, we have been exceptionally busy.
This month we secured a second regional award win of ‘Residential Developer of the Year’ at the East Midlands Property Dinner 2021. This follows an earlier win securing ‘Urban and City Developer of the Year’ back in July, both hosted by Insider Media.
In addition, Wavensmere Homes has been shortlisted for two awards at the national Resi Awards 2021. Categories include ‘Small Developer of the Year’ and You can read more about that here.
Wavensmere Foundation
Wavensmere Homes has officially set up a foundation to help those who need it most. This month, the Foundation team are raising money for a little boy called Benjamin. Please read his full story here.
On Saturday 25th September 2021, the team embarked on a sponsored walk to Snowdonia. Despite the wet weather, all members were successful. A fantastic £9,066 has been raised so far of our £10,000 goal.
Nightingale Quarter
Continued progress is being made to our Derby city centre development, Nightingale Quarter. In the last few months, we announced that all houses have now sold out. This is testament to many factors including location, design and our team’s hard work.
In relation to Strutt House apartments, please see a comment from Construction Director, Craig –
“We have now completed all groundworks operations and installed all drainage to Strutt House in line with our planned programme dates. Our steel frame contractors have surveyed the building and undertaken all of their pre checks including the completion of their enabling works and bracketry. The steel frame panels have now started to be installed to the basement plots which will continue for the next couple of weeks. It is then planned the floor decking be installed above these apartments and concrete is to be poured to allow them to form and progress to the ground floor structure. All remains on programme for our first completions towards the end of 2022.”
